Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how SilverWars LLC (“SilverWars,” “we,” “us” or “our”) handles personal information when you visit SilverWars.com, subscribe to a newsletter, use a member account, participate in comments, contact us, submit an investor-relations or sponsorship inquiry, or interact with our live-data and advertising features.

It does not govern an outside website or service that you choose to visit, including a sponsor, government program, exchange, social network or embedded-media provider. Those services publish their own privacy terms.

Who is responsible

SilverWars LLC determines why and how the personal information described in this policy is used. For a privacy question or request, email irs@silverwars.com with the subject line Privacy Request.

Information we handle

Information you provide

  • Membership and newsletter information: your email address, name or profile details, subscription status, newsletter preferences and communications with us.
  • Public participation: comments and other material you choose to submit. Public comments may remain visible with the name or profile you use.
  • Business inquiries: your name, work email, company, role, jurisdiction, project details, campaign goals and correspondence.
  • Engagement administration: contracts, approvals, billing contacts, payment status and tax or compliance information when needed for a commercial relationship.
  • Support and other submissions: messages, corrections, survey answers or other information you send voluntarily.

Information generated when you use the site

  • Internet Protocol address, browser and device information, operating system, requested page, referring page, request time and technical or security logs.
  • Approximate country, region or city inferred from network information where available.
  • Page views, navigation, link interactions, campaign attribution and newsletter delivery, open, click, bounce and unsubscribe events where those measurements are enabled.
  • Ghost membership information needed for sign-in links, account state, access permissions, subscriptions and comments.
  • Advertising and sponsored-placement information such as an impression, click, referring page and campaign identifier.

Information from other sources

We may receive limited information from our publishing, email, hosting, analytics, payment, security and advertising service providers. A company engaging SilverWars may also provide business contact information, source material and approval records for people authorized to work on its campaign.

Why we use information

Purpose Typical information Grounds we may rely on
Operate, deliver and secure the site Requests, device data, account state and security logs Performance of a service, legitimate interests and legal obligations
Provide memberships, newsletters and comments Email, preferences, member status and participation Consent, requested service and legitimate interests
Respond to IR, sponsorship and support inquiries Contact, company, project and correspondence data Steps requested before a contract, contract performance and legitimate interests
Measure and improve publication performance Audience, referral, interaction and campaign metrics Consent where required and otherwise legitimate interests
Administer sponsored work and reporting Campaign, approval, impression, click and billing records Contract performance, legitimate interests and legal obligations
Comply with law and protect people and systems Records relevant to fraud, disputes, disclosure and enforcement Legal obligations and legitimate interests

The legal ground that applies depends on the activity and your jurisdiction. Where we ask for consent, you may withdraw it for future processing. Withdrawal does not invalidate processing completed before withdrawal.

Ghost memberships, newsletters and analytics

SilverWars uses Ghost to publish the site and operate member, newsletter, search, announcement and comment features. Ghost and the configured hosting and email-delivery systems process information needed to provide those functions. Sign-in commonly uses an emailed link rather than a password stored by SilverWars.

We use Ghost’s native audience and newsletter analytics to understand publication reach and delivery. Depending on the enabled feature, these measurements may include page URLs, referrers, browser or device characteristics, event times, approximate location derived from network data, campaign attribution and newsletter delivery or interaction events. Technical infrastructure may process an IP address to deliver and secure a request even when an editorial analytics report does not display it.

You can unsubscribe using the link in a newsletter. We may retain a limited suppression record so that we continue to honor the unsubscribe request.

Cookies and browser storage

Ghost and its configured services may use cookies or comparable browser storage that is necessary for member authentication, account state, Portal, comments, security and preferences. Additional analytics, embedded-media or advertising technologies are used only as configured for the publication and are subject to applicable consent requirements.

The SilverWars theme itself currently uses three limited browser-storage entries:

  • silverwars:market-pulse:v2 stores a recent materials-data response so the page can show a clearly labelled, short-lived fallback during an interruption. The theme accepts this cache for no more than 12 hours.
  • silverwars:article-subscribe-seen:v1 stores a simple session flag after the article subscription prompt is shown or dismissed so that it does not repeatedly interrupt the same browser session.
  • silverwars:funding-shortlist:v1 stores only the public program IDs you save in the Mining Funding Desk. It keeps that shortlist in your browser until you remove the entries or clear site data; it is not synced to a member account.

These three theme entries are not designed to identify you. Funding filter selections are also placed in the page URL so a filtered view can be bookmarked or shared. A request for the site or market-data endpoint still creates ordinary network and security logs at the server, hosting or content-delivery layer. You can clear browser storage through your browser controls, although doing so can reset site preferences or sign you out.

Live materials data

The live materials monitor requests data through a SilverWars-configured endpoint that may use a hosting or edge provider and API Ninjas as the upstream commodity-data source. We do not intentionally send your member profile or email address to the upstream market-data source. The site, hosting or edge provider still processes technical request data, and the upstream provider receives information associated with the proxy request.

Advertising and sponsored content

SilverWars displays contextual sponsor placements and clearly labeled paid content. We may use aggregate or campaign-level information to report impressions, clicks and reach to a sponsor. We do not intentionally provide member email addresses or member-account profiles to sponsors for their own direct marketing.

SilverWars does not knowingly sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws define a “sale,” “sharing” or targeted advertising more broadly than an exchange for money. Our current placements are intended to be selected by page or subject matter rather than by a behavioral profile. If you believe an enabled advertising or analytics practice gives you an applicable opt-out right, contact irs@silverwars.com with the subject line Privacy Request.

External links and embedded media

Articles may link to or embed material from video, social, mapping, document, market, government or other third-party services. When an embed loads, its provider may receive your IP address, device information, referring page and interaction data and may use its own cookies or storage. Some embeds load only after interaction; others may load with the page depending on the Ghost card and provider configuration. The provider’s privacy policy governs its subsequent use of information.

Service providers and disclosures

We disclose information only as reasonably necessary to operate the publication, fulfill a requested service, administer a contract, protect the service or comply with law. Provider categories can include:

  • Ghost and the configured content-management, membership, newsletter and analytics infrastructure;
  • hosting, content-delivery, domain, security and technical-support providers, including third-party delivery of Ghost frontend packages;
  • email-delivery and payment providers when the relevant feature is enabled;
  • analytics and campaign-measurement providers configured by SilverWars;
  • API and data providers supporting publication features;
  • accounting, legal and compliance advisers; and
  • public authorities or other recipients when disclosure is legally required or necessary to protect rights and safety.

A provider may change as the publication’s infrastructure changes. You may contact us for information about the providers relevant to a particular interaction.

International processing

SilverWars is based in the United States and serves a global audience. Information may be processed in the United States and in other countries where our providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard, we use an available lawful mechanism appropriate to the provider and transfer.

Retention

We retain information for the shortest period reasonably necessary for the purpose collected, subject to operational, contractual, accounting, legal-hold and regulatory needs. The period therefore varies:

  • member and newsletter information is generally retained while an account or subscription is active and afterward as needed for account administration, suppression records, disputes and legal obligations;
  • IR, sponsorship, approval, billing and tax records are retained for the engagement and the period required for contract, audit, accounting and legal purposes;
  • security, request and analytics records follow the operational settings of the relevant Ghost, hosting, email, analytics or security provider;
  • public comments and submitted editorial material may remain with the publication record unless removed; and
  • theme browser-storage periods are described in the Cookies and browser storage section above.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it or allow it to expire where reasonably practicable.

Security

We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information and service, including access controls and encryption in transit where supported. No transmission or storage system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

Your choices and privacy rights

You may unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in the message. Depending on where you live and whether a law applies to SilverWars, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion or a portable copy; withdraw consent; object to or restrict certain processing; opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling; or appeal a decision about a request.

To make a request, email irs@silverwars.com with the subject line Privacy Request and describe the request and the service involved. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity or authority. We respond as required by applicable law, subject to lawful exceptions, and do not discriminate for exercising a protected privacy right.

Regional information

  • European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland: applicable rights can include access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent and a complaint to the data-protection authority where you live or work. Processing relies on the ground appropriate to the activity, such as consent, contract, legal obligation or legitimate interests. International transfers use an available safeguard where required.
  • United States: residents of states with applicable comprehensive privacy laws may have rights to know, access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of certain information and to opt out of covered sale, sharing, targeted advertising or profiling. Some states provide an appeal process or permit an authorized agent.
  • Canada, including Quebec: applicable rights can include access, correction, withdrawal of consent for optional processing and a challenge to our compliance. Information processed outside Canada may be accessible under foreign law.
  • Australia, Mexico and other jurisdictions: local law may provide access, correction, deletion, objection, consent-withdrawal, complaint or comparable rights. We will assess a request under the law that applies to the interaction.

Children

SilverWars is intended for a professional and general adult audience and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly request personal information from a child who cannot lawfully provide it. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can review and, where appropriate, remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The version and effective date at the top identify the current notice. If a change materially affects how existing personal information is used, we will provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
