Copper is the
wiring of war.
Mission: Deliver a U.S. supply stream of finished copper cathode engineered for defense primes, hyperscale data centers, grid hardening, and industrial electrification.
Platform: A district scale copper producer in Cochise County, Arizona now producing copper cathode at the Johnson Camp Mine and a scaled development pathway at the flagship Gunnison Project (open-pit + heap leach + SX-EW) designed to keep cathode output under U.S. jurisdiction.
Procurement signal: predictable throughput depends on controlling the processing chain (leach + SX-EW) and the reagent and power cost stack.
Production Stack
Johnson Camp Mine (JCM)
Now producing cathode output through heap leach + SX-EW.
The procurement advantage is simple: it converts material to finished cathode on U.S. soil.
- Deliverable: Finished copper cathode (on-site refining)
- System: Leach solution -> solvent extraction -> electrowinning
- Supply-chain: Reduced reliance on offshore refining chokepoints
Gunnison Project (PEA)
Scaled open pit feeding heap leach pads and on-site SX-EW. Built to support volume delivery into electrification demand and critical infrastructure buildouts. Enough projected capacity to supply up to 11% of U.S. refined copper production from mineralized materials.
Note: The PEA is preliminary in nature and includes Inferred Mineral Resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have the economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves. There is no certainty that the conclusions reached in the PEA will be realized.

Arizona, located on state and private land. A proven track record: permitted and brought two mines into production in the last five years. Compelling economics with leverage to copper price - approximately $2 billion NPV8 (after tax) and 22.5% IRR at $4.60/lb copper price.

A SilverWars materials briefing
Copper, silver and the systems behind military power.
Modern military power depends on electricity: generating it, moving it, controlling it and keeping equipment running. Copper and silver connect that electrical requirement to the mines, refineries and factories that supply it.
U.S. Army / Battlefield energy ↗01Why electricity matters in warCommunications, sensors and endurance all require power.+
Radios, sensors, drones and command posts need a dependable electrical supply. Generators and batteries provide energy; conductors, connectors and power electronics distribute and manage it. An Army battlefield-energy briefing identifies uninterrupted power as essential to keeping drones, sensors and communications running.
That dependence reaches beyond deployed equipment. The industrial base also needs electrical machinery, communications and power distribution to make, repair and replace hardware. Copper and silver are part of this wider material requirement, linking operational endurance to manufacturing capacity.
02Why copper belongs in the silver storyThe connection begins underground and continues through refining.+
USGS reports that most mined silver is obtained as a byproduct of lead-zinc, copper and gold mines. Silver supply therefore depends partly on decisions made around other metals: which deposits are mined, how much material is processed and which metals can be recovered economically.
One connection occurs during copper electrorefining. Silver can collect in residues called anode slimes, which are processed further to recover precious metals. Leaching followed by solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX-EW) is a different copper-production route. Recovering copper cathode does not, by itself, establish that silver is also recovered; the deposit and processing circuit determine what becomes a saleable product.
03What makes a supply chain resilientA deposit is the beginning of an industrial capability.+
Both copper and silver appear on the final 2025 U.S. Critical Minerals List. The designation reflects their economic or national-security importance and exposure to supply disruption. For a reader assessing industrial readiness, the useful question is whether the entire chain can keep delivering usable components.
- Mine & recoverMake metal available from the deposit.
- RefineProduce the purity a manufacturer needs.
- FabricateTurn metal into wire, contacts and components.
- Maintain & recycleKeep equipment working and recover usable material.
Power, transport, processing capacity and skilled manufacturing all matter along that route. Domestic production can shorten some dependencies, while recycling adds another source of supply. Neither replaces the need for the other stages to function.
